At the height of the Covid-19 crisis, a third of St Luke’s Hospice’s inpatients were suffering from Covid-19. The nurses, doctors, and carers were not only providing palliative care but were also dealing with the additional challenges and rigorous procedures that Covid-19 presented and demanded. The increased demand for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) consisting of disposable face masks, gloves, aprons and visors. PPE protects both the vulnerable end of life patients at St Luke’s Hospice and the nurses, doctors and carers.
