The increased demand for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) consisting of disposable face masks, gloves, aprons and visors. PPE protects both the vulnerable end of life patients at St Luke’s Hospice and the nurses, doctors and carers.
Harrow Giving were able to award St. Luke’s Hospice Harrow and Brent a grant for PPE. St. Luke’s Hospice conveyed:
“The generous grant from Harrow Giving has enabled us to keep our patients, their families and St Luke’s multidisciplinary teams (which include nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants, physiotherapist and social workers) safe for ten days.
The equipment has been used within our extremely busy 12 bedded inpatient unit and our Home Care teams who support patients and families in their own homes in Harrow. In both settings, we cared for patients with COVID-19.”
