The Death of Print
Niall Sewell
The death of print is a criticism of how we interact with media in the modern day. As we become more obsessed with technology we begin to forget and appreciate physical mediums less, influencing the use of a newspaper. Having the newspaper on fire symbolises the loss of print media and the loss of its influence gradually as more sources of media become online only. Film was also used to shoot this to further emphasise the impact of physicality and how important it is in the modern age. The careful choice of a fish and chips advert on the back directly relates to the phrase “Today’s news is tomorrow’s fish and chip paper”.
