Since 2020 we have given out more than £2.2m in grants to charities and community organisations in Harrow

The fund aims to identify, tackle and address health inequalities – Health inequalities are unfair and avoidable differences in health across the population, and between different groups within society. These include how long people are likely to live, the health conditions they may experience and the care that is available to them.

We funded two organisations to manage a health champion and outreach programme in the following areas:

  1. Harrow Carers– Diabetes & Hypertension
  2. Mind in Harrow – Mental Health

The focus of the work is to tackle inequalities through population health management in areas of high deprivation to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents and address local issues of concern.

This Innovation Fund aims to support Harrow families with at least one child under 5, including antenatal.

Optivita is a new programme in Harrow which focuses on improving life chances for parents, babies and children who are living in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the borough. Its focus is on prevention and health promotion as early as possible.

Hubs are places in local communities where people can find safety, accessibility, and opportunities for social connection. Please take a look at our community hubs page for a full list of hubs operating and where to find them.

Using funding from the Harrow Borough Based Partnership, we have been able to fund some of the warm hubs.

Funded in 2023

The purpose of this fund is to reduce health inequalities, reach communities, and integrate Healthy Harrow, Harrow’s new champions and health check programme.

The priority areas are; cancer, diabetes, hypertension, maternal health, and mental health.

Grants of up to £10,000 were available to deliver projects and activities that support the health and wellbeing of Harrow residents.
